Edward Rose & Sons Adopts Interplay’s VR Training
Edward Rose & Sons is partnering with Interplay Learning and Yardi to train up to 1,000 maintenance technicians nationwide using Interplay’s VR and 3D simulation-based skilled trades training integrated into Yardi’s learning management system, aiming to enhance technical skills, promote safe social distancing during COVID-19, and reduce costs associated with servicing HVAC, electric, and plumbing systems across their 60,000 multifamily units.
A national leader in the development, ownership, and management of multifamily communities will train up to 1,000 maintenance technicians nationwide by integrating content and technology from Interplay Learning, the largest provider of online skilled trades training, with Yardi.
Austin, TX – August 4, 2020 – Interplay Learning, the leading provider of online training for skilled trades utilizing virtual reality (VR) and 3D simulations, announced it has begun working with Yardi to create and provide training materials for up to 1,000 of Edward Rose & Sons’ service technicians.
This three-way partnership introduces a new standard of technical training to the property management industry while also promoting safe social distancing practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. Interplay Learning’s VR and simulation-based technical trainings are adaptable to any learning management system, which is important for companies already committed to a platform. Yardi, a leader in Learning Management Systems and the platform used by Edward Rose & Sons, is integrating with Interplay Learning to deliver this content. For Edward Rose & Sons, the investment in sophisticated, modern service technician training marks a turning point.
“Making sure our service techs are trained with the best-in-class, job-relevant content, safely, is one of our top priorities,” said Jeff Hazel, Edward Rose & Sons’ Service Training Manager. “With more than 60,000 multifamily units across the country, the servicing of HVAC, electric, and plumbing systems by third parties is a major company expense. We expect that our partnership with Interplay Learning will drive significant cost savings.”
Hazel sees Interplay Learning filling in a vital missing piece for the company, and Doug Donovan, CEO of Interplay Learning, agreed. “We’re thrilled to work with Edward Rose & Sons and expect to drive value to their bottom line.” He explained, “Our simulation-based learning system means better-trained service technicians in a shorter amount of time. The ultimate result is fewer expensive third-party contractor service calls and fewer tenant callbacks, while improving the experience for both the tenants and the service techs.” In addition to robust training materials, the content can be used to test core competencies in new hires, putting them on track to close gaps in their knowledge base.
Patty Evans, Director of Yardi Aspire, said, “The Interplay Learning courseware is a perfect complement to the hands-on and simulation-based software training curriculum and immersive soft skills and compliance training curriculum offered by Yardi Aspire. Whether your employees are mastering software or maintenance skills, hands-on and practical application-focused learning experiences are the most effective way to facilitate the conversion of knowledge to job skills.”
