Interplay Wins CODiE for Construction Codes Simulations

Interplay’s Development Team won the SIIA CODiE Award for Best Emerging Education Technology Solution with their Residential Construction Codes Simulation, an interactive training tool that immerses learners in the house inspection and building process to prepare them as Code Inspectors by providing realistic, variable-driven scenarios that enhance job readiness, confidence, and field performance.

Interplay’s Development Team was the lead creators of the Residential Construction Codes (RCC) Simulation that took a grand prize in the sought after SIIA CODiE Awards. Interplay’s RCC Sim won the category for Best Emerging Education Technology Solution.

The Residential Construction Codes Simulation takes the learner along the process of inspecting and understanding the entire build process of a house and is used by learners to become Code Inspectors. Here is a video that shows the simulation in action: Residential Construction Codes Training Simulation.

Doug Donovan, the CEO of Interplay, said, “As you can see, this type of content is great for simulation. Clearly, it is impossible to instantly replicate the building process of a house in a real world scenario. A simulation makes the process efficient and effective. Also, the learner capitalizes on the sim's ability to instantly change variables or scenarios, giving them near endless learning opportunities and gives the learner life-like practice to allow for better performance once actually in the field.”

Interplay’s development approach is focused on understanding the needs of the learner and building out a simulated training that targets job critical tasks, focused on the learner becoming successful at their job as fast as possible. Interplay believes a successful simulation delivers job readiness, confidence, and in-the-field performance.
